MetroCon 2006

Alright, first of all, I'm not going to complain about the Japanese commercials. I think Pen did that quite enough. That being said, in to the write-up.

After a nice, long, smushed like a pancake car ride to Tampa, we finally arrived at the officially sanctioned "Hotel with the most comfortable floor in Florida" (TM, all rights reserved) I made a cocoon out of pillows and shredded newspapers, it was great. I did what I always do when arriving at a hotel, steal all the toiletries before people do something selfish, like using them. After a firm beating from that, we move on to...

DAY 1 OF THE CON (Saturday)
The dealer room...is a trap. Never go in to the dealer's room. Ever. You will spend more money than you have willed to your name, and have to live destitute on the streets with your life-sized Taunberry plushy and $500 worth of One Piece figurines that you don't need. Artist Alley, however, is a nice place to meet other artists and tell them how much you enjoy their work. (with us, it was Chris Hazelton from Misfile) I gave him my life savings, to show my appreciation. too bad it was only 45 dollars, or else my devotion would have been a little more appreciated. To show his thanks, he gave me trees in printed wood pulp form, and buttons. (huzzah!)

We went to the Webcomic panel, which was horribly interesting and informative. Or else, it would have been, but the voices in my head were screaming too loudly for me to hear. Then, BACK TO THE DEALER ROOM! We hit up the Costume contest after that, where a giant Pocky danced for my amusement. In other words, like any other Saturday night for me. We ate dinner after that, and went to the gaming room (total carnage at Soul Calibur II!) and a girl touched me. Wait, that sounds kind of weird...The rest of the night was a blur (see the other's writeups for more details on THAT tragedy against nature) and the last I remember, we were back in the hotel. Segueing quickly in to...

DAY 2 (Sunday)
Sunday was...less expensive than Saturday. We saw the Anime Chess Match (Gendo is still hardcore) and the AMV contest (we still aren't winners...le sigh) Going home afterwards was just as fun as the ride up, and Pen swears I slept (I don't believe a word of it) because I clearly remember simply teleporting forward in time to when we pulled off at the home exit. Pff, people and their complete denial of the 4th dimension.

Through my rambling and incoherent sentence structure, you probably couldn't tell, but I had fun. I also had money. Past-tense.

*Cry*
